CTCI Vietnam Best Employee of Q4/2015

Pham Van Hung – CTCI Vietnam Best Employee of Q4/2015

As a dominant engineering company, CTCI Vietnam’s power does not only comes from talent engineers but also from strong hardware and software infrastructure to execute complicated technical design as well as strong connection to smoothly run online works with worldwide partners. Today, the prize of CTCI Vietnam Best Employee of Q4/2015 is  the recognition of whole company for their quiet contribution over the past time. The person honor to receive this prize is no one else except for Pham Van Hung – the youngest member of IT Department.

Sharing about the way that led him to IT Department, Hung said: “IT is not my major at the university. After one year pursuing the day-dream of  becoming one Air Traffic Controller at Vietnam Aviation Academy, I decided to apply for HCM city University of Technology where I was trained to work as a Mechatronics engineer. “Right after completing my graduation, I returned to Hanoi to look for a job and apply for CTCI Vietnam Instrument engineer position. After passing the written test with full of confidence, I was contacted for interview but not for Instrument position, for Piping one.”

Explaining for this matter, Ms. Loan – CTCI Vietnam recruiter said: “At that time, CTCI Vietnam looked for both Instrument and Piping candidates. He applied for Instrument but his temporary graduation certificate mentioned Mechanics as his major. Unlike other company where this case can be eliminated, we flexibility moved him to the list of Piping candidate where he was more suitable for. We never want to lose potential talent.”

Hung was so surprised to be interviewed by Piping manager instead of Instrument one. However, he quickly understood because he was extremely impressed by CTCI Vietnam right at the first time coming there. He bares: “At that time, I desperately wanted to work for this company.”

While working for Piping Department, Hung shows his capability in IT field. At that time, CTCI Vietnam needed to apply Knowledge Management system (KM) as per the requirement of CTCI Group. The person that CTCI Vietnam HR Manager and General Director recommended as the contact window to set it up is no one else except for Hung. In response to the expectation of CTCI Vietnam BOD and staff, Hung successfully applied it and trained all departments. Up till now, all CTCI Vietnam members are familiar to access KM to look for any useful materials shared among CTCI Group and its international affiliates. For CTCI Vietnam people, KM is no different from a small Google of engineering and related fields.

After success with KM, Hung was gradually introduced to IT-related works. It is one CTCI IT specialist who came to CTCI Vietnam for audit suggested Hung to move to IT department since he found Hung’s potential for this work. This recommendation was raised in time of need and Hung was rotated to IT from November 2013.

Ms. Tam – one senior IT engineers expressed: “Hung’s initial basis is Web developer but after being trained, he quickly acquired knowledge of hard ware, IT network and other applications. He never refuses any calling for help from CTCI Vietnam members and never does anyone see him angry.”

Talking about this fellow, Mr. Tinh, IT Department Manager thinks that Hung is the missing piece of CTCI Vietnam IT Department. “Beside maintaining the operation of the company’s workstation and server system, Hung shows his strengths in R&D. He’s so smart that he can self-studies and helps other departments to create and develop internal applications. They can be named as CTCI Vietnam Online Project, Meeting Room Reservation, IT Equipment Management, EPC Capability, Stationery Application, Best Employee Evaluation…Thanks to these systems, for the first time, paper work is reduced; data is generated quickly and exactly in CTCI Vietnam.”

It can be said that Pham Van Hung is a typical model of CTCI Vietnam employee who is hard working, active, creative and above all, desires to stay permanently with the company. Rarely does someone else express a deep love to company like Hung. It can be seen clearly through the way he sacrifices for work. Most importantly, he never stops thinking of new ideas to contribute company, from the smallest detail. Recently, Hung is volunteer to become 5S leader with a hope to maintain the well-ordered and beautiful image of the company.

For me, I still remember his image on the first days at CTCI Vietnam – eager to adapt new knowledge and full of enthusiasm. One time I saw Hung stare at the Best Employee Certificates of elder generation and asked when his turn was. Lighted in his eyes the determination flame. And today, this honor prize goes to him. Congratulation on his victory and we hope to see his new achievements on the way ahead.
